Identification Requirements for Signatories to Accounts

Under DUnder the Anti_moneyLaundering and counter Terrorism financing Act 2006 (Cth) Fire Brigades Employees' Credit Union Ltd. must verifiy an individual's indentity before it provides them with services and products. This means that when an individual applies to be a member of Fire Brigades Employees's Credit Union they must provide original documents.

Documents provided as proof of identity must be either originals or certified copies of the originals. All documents must be in the same name under which you wish to operate your accounts. Following are examples of acceptable documents.

 

Adults 18 years or over
  • Current Australian passport (or one that has expired within the last 2 years)
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Proof of age card which contains a photograph

 Category A

  • Birth Certificate or extract of birth certificate
  • Australian citizenship certificate
  • Pension card issued by Centrelink
  • An electoral enrolment card
  • A Medicare card, Dept. of Veteran's Affairs card or any other entitlement card issued by the Australian Government
  • Loan document held by financial institution
  • Mortgage doucments of another financial institiution
  • Land Title Office Records

Juniors under 18 years
Both  of the following Birth certificate  
Birth certificate of extract of birth certificate  
Notice issued by the school principal within last 3 months
