We are proud to provide financial support for the day and acknowledge the great work and commitment of the organisers to raise funds for the Westmead Children’s Hospital.

NSW Fire Brigades Ball

Fire Brigades Employees' Credit Union has supported the ball organising committee for many years and sponsors the lucky door prizes on the night.

Newcastle Fire Brigades Ball

We have sponsored the fund raising efforts of the ball committee over a number of years and are pleased to play our part in supporting local charities in the Newcastle district.

NSW Fire Brigades Retired Members Association

We are also one of the major sponsors of the Annual Luncheon of the NSW Fire Brigades' Retirees Association held in October in Sydney. These sponsorships help to keep the affordability to a low level to encourage this get together of retirees and offers a great opportunity to catch up with some old friends.

Wider Community Involvement

The Credit Union is a strong supporter of Credit Union Foundation Australia (CUFA).

CUFA is the development agency for Credit Union’s and has both a domestic and international focus. Their mission is to empower communities through access to affordable financial services.

Village Entrepreneur Program 

One of CUFA's programs is the Village Entrepreneur Program to assist families in developing countries. The Fire Brigades Credit Union employees, via their own staff club, currently sponsor a family in Cambodia, who are members of the Takream Credit Union, with financial assistance on a monthly basis.

Individuals can also commence these sponsorships and any Fire Brigades Credit Union members are encouraged to assist where they can.

2010 Pacific Credit Union Technical Congress

Another recent initiative was to sponsor an attendee from one of our Pacific Island nation neighbours to the 2010 Pacific Credit Union Technical Congress to allow them to further develop their skills to assist their local communities.
